Who knew the Sidekick 3 was so customizable? You can edit everything from the background of your favorite application to the sounds that the device makes when you open and close the screen.

Below is a simple step by step guide, click “Read More” too see all the variables you can edit.

　　做为一款采用数据专用理念的PDA手机，Sidekick 3的通话功能只能算是一般。虽然其机身比前代机型要稍薄一些，但是其5.1英寸×2.3英寸×0.9英寸的外形规格和6.7盎司的重量，即使是混合了多种功能，在整体上，还是让人觉得有些笨重。

　　Sidekick 3机身自带的130万像素摄像头，其拍摄质量要好于我用过的其它手机，但仍然有失真的地方。Sidekick 3的音乐播放器只支持MP3文件，而且在外置扬声器时，其播放效果一般，但是当通过耳机来“品味”音乐时，效果非常棒。
　　Sidekick 3的一个最让人欣赏的地方是，它支持使用一张64MB的迷你型SD卡和计算机之间进行音乐和照片的传送。而且不需安装任何驱动设备，用户只需使用机身自带的USB 1.1数据线通过计算机的USB端口，将两种设备连接起来，这样，计算机便会将迷你型SD卡识别为外部存储驱动器。
　　如果你没有桌面软件，T-Mobile还提供能够通过无线电自动同步Sidekick的地址本、日历、行程规划、电子邮件(通过T-Mobile提供的帐号或/和多达3个附加的POP/IMAP由户)及所有在设备内存中存储的图片(好比上面提到的迷你SD卡)。与那些原来传送照片非常困难的手机相比，要显得方便很多，但是如果你没有订制不限量数据服务，那么使用费用将会是非常昂贵的。

　　由于采用了高灵敏度和直观的用户界面设计，并结合有一款超棒的键盘(可谓是我用过的手持设备中最好的)，这使电子邮件、文本信息和即时通讯功能成为Sidekick 3的几大亮点。还有其Web浏览功能也非常强大：通过代理服务器可以过滤掉那些广告，而且由于浏览器并不保存站点的外观，所在其显示的内容非常具有可读性。
　　Sidekick 3的其它升级功能，包含一个体积小巧、运行平滑的轨迹球，它能够轻松地实现在项目和菜单间进行导航；一个抽取式可重复充电的锂电池，在我们进行的声音通话测试中，其使用时间能达到9个小时；Sidekick 3还支持T-Mobile的EDGE数据加速网络功能。
　　当然，Sidekick 3也并非完美无瑕。当将其调到最大亮度、在打开背景灯的模式下，其显示效果，与竞争对手如Palm 的Treo产品或大部分Windows Mobile PDA相比，仍然显得稍逊一筹。而且用户需要花费一定的功夫才能了解它的全部功能，除了轨迹球，你还必须得掌握四个按键(显示器两边各两个)，从而才能访问及使用不同的菜单和功能。我花费了一天的时间，才对其功能有了大致的了解。

　　也许Sidekick所使用的Danger操作系统第三方软件匮乏，是其最大的不足。Palm和Windows Mobile系统的用户能够在不同的网站上下载到数以千计的游戏、提高效率程序及工具软件；而Sidekick的用户只有十几个可选择之处，其中最常用的是使用Sidekick图标，通过无线电进行软件下载。
　　如果你对第三方软件能够提供的多样化功能和轻便小巧的外形并不感冒，那么Sidekick 3是一款非常不错的支持电子邮件、信息和网络浏览的设备。那些通话狂热族们可能更偏爱拨号选项直接的机型，但在所有包含输入功能的设备中，Sidekick都是难以被打败的佼佼者！

    Sidekick 3继续把独具匠心的旋转设计进行到底，只要用手指轻轻推一下屏幕的左下角，整个屏幕就可以随着屏幕正上方的轴侧滑旋转到手机键盘上方的位置。同时液晶屏幕也会自动修正显示方向。和SideKick 2一样，在屏幕的背面也有一块小型磁铁，可令屏幕完美的旋转到正确的位置。打开屏幕，就可以看见那块传说中的全尺寸的Qwerty键盘了，键盘的主色调为黑色，数字键部分用蓝色完美的分离出来，让用户方便辨认。按键的设计也是中规中矩的，采用经典的透明式设计，使得各个字母一目了然，除了这些，键盘的手感也是非常不错的，使用的过程中不会有任何的不舒服的感觉。
   
    Sidekick 3的尺寸为130×59×22 mm，6.7oz 相当于190g的重量，对于2.6英寸QVGA分辨率TFT材质的屏幕来说相当合适，整个屏幕的色彩还原度相当好，亮度也很柔和，不会让眼睛感到不适。不过遗憾的是，这款显示屏并不是夏普可以傲视群雄的ASV技术，不过从实际的显示效果来看，完全可以让其他同样材质的手机屏幕感到汗颜。
   
    Sidekick 3的最大的卖点在于加入了轨迹球的概念，在手机的右边有一个可以自由转动的轨迹球，就像4D轨迹球鼠标一样，用户可以方便的进行旋转操作系统，轨迹球采用半透明式设计，在接到电话的时候会发出器材夺目，尤其是在晚上的时候，绝对会引来人群的目光，使您立刻成为焦点。轨迹球的手感也很不错，在转动的时候会收到回馈力的提醒，绝对不会转过或者转错，属于非常体贴和人性化的设计。
   
    Sidekick 3装备了130万像素摄像头并配有LED闪光灯，拍照有三种尺寸可选，分别是320*240、640*480和1280*1024，虽然像素算不上主流，不过借助于夏普的屏幕优势，使得实际的拍摄效果也是比较令人满意的。
